Chev Trailblazer and Rogue Off-Road Trailer
Mitsubishi Pajero and Venter Off-Road Trailer.
Our Rogue Trailer
Packing the trailer
The Chev is a 2015 diesel 4x4 with a 2.8 Duramax engine.
It performs very well and pulls the trailer with no problem at all. It tows the big Rogue trailer through thick sand (such as in the Central Kalahari) with no problem at all.

The trailer is fully self sufficient with a freezer, stave, water tanks and solar power unit. It also has a fully fitted kitchen.
Camping is a breeze.

This Rogue trailer I bought in 2008. Its a home built variety and has everything to make camping comfortable.

We have travelled in Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa with this trailer.

Maintenance is important and I have the bearings etc. services once a year.

We have had some interesting experiences, like our first trip with the trailer in 2008, to Botswana, when the axel moved and we kept blowing tyres, until I found someone to weld a nut onto the axel to keep it on place.

Then again then the brake caused the bearing to overheat and almost resulting in loosing the entire tyre and drum in Botswana. In this instance the trailer had to stay in Palapey until I managed to source a new axel from South Africa.

On our trip to Etosha one of the bolts holding the spring in place broke. Luckily I had a spare and it was easy to replace.

The Pajero is the 3.8 petrol v6 version. Its a fantastic vehicle to drive, has a superb 4x4 system.
Its an older vehicle and has 240000Km's on the clock
The trailer is fitted with electrical power, a fridge slide and a roof rack. We use stretchers in the Howling Moon dome tent and its actually extremely comfortable.

If we staying a longer time, we also use the extension, which makes a nice big area into which we place the fridge, tables and the gas stove.

This trailer has proved to be a great combination with the tent and we have never had a problem with the outfit.
